Tiger Woods to ‘Appear’ at AT&T National Pro-Am

Tiger Woods will be seen at next week’s AT&T National Pro-Am in Monterey, but the golfer won’t actually be there.

Woods, who has been out of the public eye since reports of extramarital affairs surfaced, will grace the necks of fans and press attending the event.  Prior to the media storm surrounding his alleged affairs, Woods’ image was printed on tickets that will be worn by those attending the event.

Ollie Nutt of the Moterey Peninsula Foundation, which holds the event each year, said that the images on the tickets do not mean that Woods will be appearing at the event.

“Those were printed sometime ago, and we’re talking about Tiger, and no, we’re not expecting him to be here,” Nutt told NBC affiliate KSBW. “He’s obviously (got) some issues. It’s just tragically sad on that aspect, and hopefully he deals with that and (we) have him back there in the future.”

Not everyone that attends the event will have the Tiger Woods credentials badge.  Nutt says that different images were placed on different credentials, depending on which level of credentials you have.

Woods won the AT&T National Pro-Am in the year 2000 and had planned on participating in the event prior to his unscheduled hiatus.
