
Tiger Woods loses another sponsor - and some cars
Tiger Woods has lost another sponsor. This time, it’s General Motors, according to reports.
USA Today is reporting that the agreement between Woods and GM that left free vehicles in Woods’ driveway has expired and will not be renewed.
Woods was an endorser of Buick until 2008, but GM let the golfer keep a few vehicles for his own use even after the contract had expired.
The newspaper is reporting that Woods has returned all of the vehicles to GM and that the Escalade that Woods smashed up on Thanksgiving night would be repaired and sold – how much do you think that will go for on eBay?
GM is one of many corporate sponsors that have cut ties with Woods since a media frenzy about his alleged marital affairs came into public eye.
Other companies that have distanced themselves or fired Tiger are AT&T, Accenture, Tag Heuer, and Gillette.
Shoe company, Nike, has invested many millions of dollars in branding a line of products with the Tiger Woods name on it. They say that they are sticking with Woods for the time being.
