The Tea Party movement is gaining momentum in cities and towns throughout the United States and now on the Internet – via Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/TeaPartyOnline
A new Facebook page called The TEA Party Movement emerged this week and garnered over 700 registered fans in its first 48 hours. Interested parties can simply click the “Become a Fan” button to be included in the Tea Party Movement’s interactive media and discussions.
The page was created by Eric Rosenberg, a U.S. veteran, radio personality, and Tea Party organizer.
“The TEA Party Movement page on Facebook is an entertaining way for people to learn more about the issues that are sparking anger across the nation, as well as interact with other like-minded people”, said Rosenberg. “Facebook’s viral nature allows people that are unable to attend actual rallies rally from their own home by sharing their thoughts and concerns with their Facebook friends.”
Rosenberg is coordinating a five state series of Tea Party rallies set to begin in late summer. He says that the Facebook page will be used for everything from promoting rallies to broadcasting a daily Tea Party talk radio show that will feature nationally known critics as well as ordinary people.
“It is important for ordinary people to share their concerns and points of view at a national level. A lot of folks feel that the Tea Party is being hijacked by celebrity politicians and newsmen. This is not the case. The Tea Party was began and remains a true grass roots effort powered by people just like you and me. That is why it is important for as many individuals to have their voices heard as possible. This is what we hope to accomplish with our Facebook presence and online radio shows”, Rosenberg went on to say.
