A woman in Texas has filed a wrongful death suit against the manufacturers and suppliers of the asbestos responsible for her husband’s passing.
Katherine Brashers says that her husband, Michael Brashers, was exposed to asbestos on the job at Union Oil Company of California, which was located in Jefferson County Texas. Brasher dies within a month of being diagnosed with Mesothelioma, a form of lung cancer attributed to asbestos exposure.
Mrs. Brashers named as defendants Able Supply, Ametek, Champlain Cable Corp., Guardine, Hercules Inc, Westinghouse Electric, Jett Weld Inc, and Union Oil Company of California.
Brasher worked for Union Oil from 1963 to 1998. Asbestos was widely used in throughtout that time in construction, manufacturing, and ship building.
Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer, but due to the exposure of many millions of people to asbestos, mesothelioma cases are on the rise. Once diagnosed, most sufferers are given only six to 18 months to live.
