Mel Gibson has been ordered by a Los Angeles judge to surrender all of his firearms.
The ruling, which came down last Thursday, gave Gibson 24 hours to turn over his “lethal weapons”, according to reports by RadarOnline.
A source told the website, “Judge Scott Gordon made the ruling, and Mel will be required to submit a declaration with the court within 24 hours of Thursday’s hearing proving that he has done so.”
Gibson is involved in a bitter custody battle with former girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva. Grigorieva claims that the “Mad Max” star beat her, breaking her two front teeth. The Russian super model also claims that Gibson once held her at gunpoint when she tried to leave his Malibu mansion.
Audio tapes have recently been leaked to the press in which you can hear the actor ranting at Grigorieva and using racial slurs.
Gibson is no stranger to bad press. During an arrest for drunk driving in 2006, Gibson asked the arresting officer if he was Jewish. He then was recorded saying, “”F***ing Jews…the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.”
