Dr. Laura Schlessinger stirred up a load of trouble for herself after controversially using the N-word on her radio show last week.  The host was talking to an African-American about her Caucasian husband and his friends making racially charged jokes. The caller then asked about the appropriateness of using the N-word, to which Dr. Laura responded by saying that black comics on HBO use it all the time. Schlessinger then said the word three times.

The caller responded in shock that the radio host would use that word on-air, to which Schlessinger replied that the didn’t “spew out” the n-word. The caller then said that she hoped listeners heard it, to which the radio host responded by saying it three more times. Dr. Laura then warned the caller not to “NAACP me”, and take the discussion out of context.

The radio host went on, telling the caller that since she was so “hypersensitive” about skin color, she shouldn’t have married outside of her race. This was the statement that truly caused the media to raise an outcry against Dr. Laura.     The radio host issued an apology the next day, saying that she was “so, so wrong” and that she could barely finish the radio show after the conversation was over.
