Michael C. Hall, who plays "Dexter", announced his battle with cancer
The star of the hit TV show Dexter announced yesterday that he is battling cancer.
Michael C. Hall, who plays the title role in the Showtime cable TV series, released a statement saying that he has been suffering from Hodgkin’s lymphom for some time now, but has kept it secret from fans.
Hall’s statement said, “I feel fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition, and I thank my doctors and nurses for their expertise and care.”
A spokesman for the actor added that Hall’s cancer is in complete remission.
Hall will be attending Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, where he has been nominated for a best dramatic actor nomination for his role of a Miami police blood expert. In the show, “Dexter” secretly takes the law into his own hands by brutally killing suspects that he believes are guilty.
Dexter is known by fans as being a lovable serial killer.
The show is set to start recording its fifth season episodes later in the year. Hall co-stars in the show with his wife, Jennifer Carpenter, who plays the role of Dexter’s sister.
Hall is also known for his role as David Fisher on the HBO cable series Six Feet Under.
